You’re welcome on this being the shortest LM Note to date. Don’t get too used to it.
Quick note, some minor changes have been made to the league site:
Fantasy Pros has been added to the relevant fantasy links at the top of the site pages.
The player pics in the standings pages have been given a nice little edit.
Additionally, I’ve added championship banners to the owner’s pages of Brian and Jacob, if you’d like one for your page, start winning more.
From last LM note, the league constitution is now available on our website, updated with all our approved change.
The Votes are in… 100% voter turnout, wow, we’re what America strives to be.

Without further ado.

Voting Results
Preface: to pass, any resolution needed 6 out of 10 votes from the league.

The following scoring changes have been approved by league vote:
1) Reducing the passing points for Interceptions thrown from -3.0 to -2.5
2) Reducing the points for D/ST Fumble Recovered from 2.0 to 1.0 and increasing the points for D/ST Fumble Forced from 0.0 to 1.0
3) Increasing the penalty for Offensive Fumble from 0.0 to -1.0 and decreasing the additional penalty for Offensive Fumble Lost from -3.0 to -2.0
The following rule changes have been approved by league vote:
1) Keeper clock set to 3 years (keepers can be kept for no more than three straight seasons, including initial draft year before they are put back into the players' pool… Essentially, you can draft a player, then keep them for the two following years)
2) Consecutive keepers are based on prior year's Average Draft Position (so if the player was a third-round pick on average in 2017 and you want to keep them again in 2018, you'll sacrifice a third-round pick)
The following structural changes have been approved by league vote:
1) League buy-in = $30 (this was the exact average of all values, surprisingly).
2) Offseason Transaction period approved
The following last place punishments have been approved by league vote (will go into effect for this year’s loser… you’re safe for last year Phil):
1) The owner’s team name will be decided upon by a weekly league majority vote. The owner may regain naming right by possessing a winning record at any point after the halfway point of the season (week 7).
2) Record themselves running a beer-mile but with one beer before each 1/4-mile split, each beer will be chosen by one of the top 4 league finishers (known as the 4-beer mile).
3) Sing the Star-Spangled Banner in the video/phone conference to open proceedings for the next year's draft.
Notes on other resolutions:
Waiver changes did not pass with a split 5 to 5 vote. Butler and I had a decent discussion about passing it via LM powers but since the league was split and not set to a majority decision we will leave it as is, but you’ll likely hear about it again next year.
Weekly high score prizes were split 5 to 5, since we doubled the buy in this year it likely would’ve been too much of an increase to pass via LM powers but since interest was there we will likely continue discussions about that as well, especially since it gives teams with a bad record something to play for.
Draft Date

The 2017 League Draft will take place on Thursday, August 31st at 8:00 PM EST
As we’ve stated before, the draft will take place via Clicky Draft this year. You’ll be sent an invite to log into the site and take control of your team before the draft, then at the time of the draft you’ll be provided a URL to enter the draft room. This will ostensibly work exactly the same as ESPN drafts, without costing you guys anything. It will, however, allow us to enact or league specific keeper rules, as opposed to ESPN.
As Butler previously noted, the player rankings Clicky Draft provides are different (but better) than ESPNs. They use the Fantasy Pros Expert Consensus rankings for STANDARD ESPN rules (this means 0 ppr as opposed to our 0.5 ppr). For most this won't be a huge issue. But, apparently, some of you draft exclusively off of those rankings so you deserve to know how your lack of preparation will be influenced by a different set of rankings.
There is a chat room available in clicky draft but I’m likely going to use either skype/video chatting of some kind or a conference call (like for the March Madness draft some of you participated in) for anyone who wants to join.
Keeper Selection

The deadline to submit your keeper is Thursday, August 24th.
You can submit your keeper here:
(this would also be a good time to decide on your 2017 team name and logo if you're going to use a new one)
You can change your submission if you like until that date by submitting a new response under your name or changing your previous response.
Keepers will be retained in the draft round you chose them in last season, with a max of round 7 (any player acquired after the 7th round of last year’s draft will still be kept in that round). You can check out the rest of the keeper “quirks” in the league constitution but they likely won’t apply to most of you.
Once the keeper deadline has passed I will input them into our draft software and make the list public to the league.
See you on August 31st.
