Football is finally back! And Finally, an LM Note where you don’t have to do anything.
We’re just hours away from the JPFL Draft this Tuesday (8/31) at 8:00 PM ET. While I’m certain some of you have started prep already, this note will contain the keeper list so you can know which names to cross off your player list before even starting your mocks.
The first of the promised “cool” things coming to the league this season is here. The revamped JPFL Stats/History Spreadsheet is fully operational and can be found here:
Might come in handy while prepping for the draft, who knows. You can also find a full history of JPFL keepers amongst those tabs. I’ll keep this updated as the season goes because it's 1000x easier than the older one.
Without further ado.
Draft Info
The 2021 JPFL Draft is scheduled for Tuesday, August 31st, at 8:00 PM ET
As I’ve mentioned a few times before, we are running our draft through Clicky Draft, the same program we always use. Clicky Draft is “an online fantasy draft board built specifically to accommodate live in-person drafts. Clicky Draft allows leagues hosting drafts to display a draft board through a TV or projector while also allowing people to view and make picks from their phone, tablet, laptop, or desktop. It is a perfect draft board solution in a world where most drafts have a few members out of town.”
This will work exactly the same as in years past.
1) The first thing you need to do is join our league in Clicky Draft. Go to this link
and claim ownership of your team. You will be asked to log in/create an account. If you remember your sign-in from years past, awesome. If not just make a new account. There isn’t a fee required, just make sure to use a username and password that you’ll be able to remember on the night of the draft. It should take 3 minutes maximum to do all of this.
2) At 7:00 Wednesday, I’ll open the draft room. At that time, I’ll provide you all with a new link to enter the draft room. When you click the link, you’ll be taken to the draft room and will have full control of your team’s draft picks. Simple as that, no need to install anything, just click the new link and go.
This draft will be accessible from ANY DEVICE that has internet access via a browser. You can use your computer, phone, tablet, whatever. You can even use an Xbox or PS5. If it has an internet browser, it can be used to draft your team. If you’re on the go Tuesday night, just hop on with your phone to make your picks. You can also take advantage of this feature to give yourself multiple screens to use during the draft.
You can draft from an iPad while researching on your laptop. The draft board will resize itself to fit whatever screen you’re using, so you can display it on your TV screen if you’d like.
There are several viewing options for however you’d like the draft board to display on your screen:
- Draft Board will display like a classic draft board, simply listing teams across the top and rounds underneath.
- Player Ranks will show you the Fantasy Pros ECR rankings, sortable by position and team. You can also sort the list by any statistic.
- Team Rosters will show all the teams with their drafted rosters underneath
- Snake Board will slightly modify the Draft Board display to show the picks in our snaking format.
- Standard Board will show the board the same as Snake Board except it will reorder each round to show the first pick in the round on the left progressing to the last pick on the right.
I recommend using either Snake Board or Standard Board to view the draft. Clicky Draft also gives you the option to readjust the height or width of the pick slots and choose specifically what information displays for picks (player first name, last name, team, position, and bye week)
We will be in the JPFL Draft call in the Discord for everyone to join on draft night.
As always, a list of the previous drafts can be found on the JPFL website, if you want to do some looking back.
Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for, the last piece of pre-draft info you need to be able to fully prep and mock…
Here are the 2021 JPFL Keepers by first-round draft order :
1. Pat Lockett

2. Nick Leon

3. Nick Butler

4. Thomas Simmons

5. Pat Butler

6. Oliver Allen

7. Joe Bridenstine

8. Brian McAvoy

9. Jacob Wild

10. Charlie Gaskin

Divisions
As has been a rule for the past few years, Jacob and Pat L won divisional rights for 2021 with their conference titles last season. We will be “drawing” the league’s divisions into Jacob and Pat’s halves of the league before/after the draft (we’ll take a quick vote to decide if we want the drawing before or after rosters are known).
As of right now, the divisions will be named:
Waffle Haus Bois – Pat L
The Klismaphiles – Jacob
Since the divisions will be drawn up at the same time as our draft, I will have to make the schedule following the draft, prior to the season start. I had a big write-up the last two years about how it would be incredibly difficult for me to shape the schedule to give myself an advantage but now I can just point to my going 3-10 back to back as evidence. If I could rig the schedule I would not go 3-10.
Alrighty, fam, get that last-minute draft research in, tinker with your rankings, and get set for Tuesday night. Pat and I will make sure to reach out to everyone on the day of so nothing falls through the cracks.
See you soon.
